Accounts Payable Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Supervisor manages the Accounts Payable Department. This position ensures that the Company maintains strong vendor relations. The Accounts Payable Supervisor must have knowledge of GAAP and IRC. The Accounts Payable Supervisor must have strong supervisory and organizational skills. The Accounts Payable Supervisor must have a knowledge base of different software systems and have strong computer usage experience.
A Day in the Life:
  • Manages the entire Accounts Payable and Cash processes
  • Ensure all invoices have appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Manages Customer Vendor Relations, and the implementation of Vendor Compliance
  • Manages check runs.
  • Manages the check disbursements, mailing, file storage, and document retention.
  • Manages the Accounts Payable ledger
  • Develop implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personal actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
  • Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.
  • Assists with monthly closing process and communication with the accounting department
  • Assists with other projects as needed
  • Complete the annual 1099 / 1096 reporting requirements

  • Sub-ledger to General Ledger reconciliation

  • Effects/relationships of transactions on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • 5 years experience required
